Key West and Miami

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The last travel I did and that I will talk to you about (until I will go on a new adventure) is the one in Key West and Miami, where I went from the 4th until the 11th of april. I had already seen Miami three years ago but I did not really remember it, since when I first saw it I wasn't interested in photography at all and I did not have an eye for details as I do now. However, it was the first time I was visiting Key West and it was a new experience that I absolutely loved. As soon as we landed in the Miami airport we rented a car to get to Key West, even though we stopped at a little hotel we booked, before we kept driving towards our destination.
The next morning in fact we started driving to reach the adorable Keys, which I loved more than I expected. The first thing I did as soon as we arrived, right before starting to look for interesting things to photograph, was to change my t-shirt and long skirt into an outfit that was more appropriate to the hot weather: tank top and shorts. After we left out luggage in the hotel (which was beautiful, I could have lived there) we started to walk. There were so many nice shops and so many young people, so it made me think of Key West as a possible post graduation trip!

I have always wondered how some people are able to eat all of this for breakfast. An example is my brother, who in some way can eat a whole plate full of meat, potatoes, eggs, bacon and whatever else at nine o'clock in the morning.

Obviously, how could I not put a photo of the delicious snow cone? Peach is my favourite.

Peccato fosse vietato!

During our second and last day in Key West we saw the butterfly greenhouse. It was such a wonderful experience being able to walk around them and having them so close I could almost touch them. Too bad we couldn't!

And now it's time to talk about Miami, where we spent a few days. Even though I don't believe it's a beautiful city, it is still intriguing because of the fun Ocean Drive, full of great restaurants, hotels and night clubs, or hotels that were all three of these things!

As usual, I always have to take photos in the shops' dressing rooms. ;)

Bellissimo.

The third day we decided to go to Palm Beach, which is two hours or so from Miami, and as soon as we finished breakfast we saw this rented convertible Mustang in front of our hotel. I can't explain how fun it was to drive on the highway trying not to make the hats and bags fly off. Amazing.

How could I forget about the Tiffany store at the Bal Harbour Shops in Miami and the huge on in Palm Beach? And how could I not take a picture after buying the beloved bracelet and ring?

***

Yes, I know I have the same top that I wore in Key West, but this was before the last minute shopping I did the last days, so my outfit combinations weren't that original.

And last but not least, two photos of Ocean Drive. They didn't come out so well because they were made with the lens that does not have the zoom, and plus they were taken during the night while we were driving.

San Francisco and Sausalito

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The real purpose of this blog is actually to talk about my travels and my experiences in the different cities. After posting about my trip to New York, I thought it would be opportune to talk to you about the one in San Francisco and Sausalito, where I went in december with my family. It was an absolutely amazing vacation, both because of the wonderful places we visited and because of the company. In fact, on the 27th of december our friends joined us, making this trip even more special.
Our hotel was in Sausalito, a small town in an island connected to San Francisco by the Golden Gate Bridge. From our window we could see some spectacular sunrises and sunsets. I think I took a thousands of photos of only these amazing landscapes. They were truly a sight worth of remembering!

In San Francisco I also bought my 50mm f1.4 lens, which I love, my tripod and the remote.

During our third day we rented some bikes and we biked from Sausalito, through the Golden Gate Bridge until we arrived to Fisherman's Wharf. It was incredibly tiring, also because biking for ten kilometers in the morning with eight degrees outside is not really easy, but it was completely worth it.

San Francisco is really beautiful. It's an unusual city, but that doesn't mean that it's less worth than New York. I found it picture perfect, which made me very happy. I recommend everyone to go see Lombard Street, if you want to have a fantastic view of the city, and also if you want to see the famous curvy road. Then there are Market Street (the one with the snowflakes as decoration) and North Beach, which is the italian neighborhood. There is so much to see! You would really need a whole month to see everything!
